The Experimental Station for Research on Art and Life
Siliștea Snagovului
tranzit.ro/Bucuresti is welcoming a group of students and their tutors, from one of the most experimental MAs in the Baltic countries, the POST programme at the Latvian Art Academy in Riga. During their trip to Romania, facilitated by curator and tutor Corina Apostol, they will spend one day at the Station, exploring the surroundings and discussing topics formulated by the Station’s context, such as water scarcity, biodiversity preservation, migration of plant and animal species, sustainable food systems, as well as models of collective ownership and self-management. The Cosmos Garden at the Station will serve as a case study for some of these topics.

In this present in which the future is almost cancelled, #solarpunk imagines a way to be together based on other options than denial or despair. In this speculative imaginary, manifested as sci-fi literary and artistic forms, and rapidly expanding in multiple forms of popular culture, the solar, understood as renewable energy, meets punk as form of self-organisation, thus representing a trend in discontinuity with genres like cyberpunk, dieselpunk or steampunk.

"The desirable goal of politics can be defined in philosophical terms by reflecting on what is Evil, the root cause of human suffering." (New Eastern European Left)
There are many opinions about the thinking of Gáspár Miklós Tamás. Is there a political truth to be gleaned from his writings that goes beyond opinions? Once a month, we read a text from Gáspár Miklós Tamás' book “Antitézis” together, interpret it, discuss and debate it.

May – July 2023
With Iuliana Dumitru and Adelina Ivan
The Experimental Station is slowly growing – with more than 80 species planted in the Cosmos Garden; with Demeter, a bread oven made by poet and gardener V. Leac using found and gifted local bricks; with raised beds of vegetables and medicinal plants; and with an invasion of turnips. Despite unpredictable weather conditions, our frequency to commute between the city and the project site increased, together with a familiarity of the surroundings and closeness with our (non)human neighbors.
