The Artists-in-Residence program at quartier21/MuseumsQuartier in Vienna is part of the ERSTE Foundation's long-term effort to support contemporary art and strengthen the position of its creators, especially in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.
The residency program is carried out in close cooperation with the ERSTE Foundation's key cultural partners: tranzit, the Igor Zabel Association, and the Kontakt Collection (the Kontakt Collection will collaborate with WHW Akademija in Zagreb). The residencies are open to artists and curators from Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, the Slovak Republic, and Slovenia working in the field of critical contemporary visual art to conduct research in their field.
