With a grant from nctm e l’arte (Italy), Rome-based artist Valentina Vetturi is speding a month in Bucharest, during which she will research for a new project. The residency is organized by tranzit.ro/ Bucuresti.
Valentina Vetturi (born in Reggio Calabria in 1979). Her works investigate the relationships among performative practice, writing and the disruptive elements of everyday life. Recent projects/shows include: Cattedrale (Swiss Institute, Rome, 2013) Orchestra. Studio #1 (MACRO, Rome, 2012), Marcia per un coro (Fortezza di Civitella del Tronto, 2012), Una Mostra (Viafarini in Residence, Milan, 2012), Un Viaggio (Spazio Norbert Salenbauch e Galleria Marilena Bonomo, Venice, 2011), The Playground (Premio LUM, Bari, 2011), La Funzione (Fondazione Sandretto, 2012; Naba e Miart, Milan, 2011), La Macchina che produce il Tempo (Auditorium, Rome, 2012; Galleria Marilena Bonomo, 2010), La Pendolare (Living Layers/Wunderkammern e MACRO, Rome, 2010). She is the author of some publications: Un Viaggio, La Macchina che produce il Tempo (published by Galleria Bonomo Bari) e Un Esilio (published by Tenuta dello Scompiglio, Lucca). She won the prize Mario Razzano (2010) and she took part in art residencies among them: FAAP- Fundaçao Armando Alvares Penteado (San Paolo, Brasile); Transient Space Summer Camp/Uqbar (Palanga, Lituania); Viafarini (Milano). She is the co-founder of the colllective Radice Quadrata.
