The Block for Housing meets in Iasi from January 31 to February 2, 2020, in order to further increase the alliance between autonomous groups and active organizations for housing justice in several cities in the country. We will discuss our most recent collective projects - The Action Platform for Housing Justice in Romania (2018) and Action against Labour Exploitation and Housing Deprivation (2019) - as well as the project we are now starting From knowledge production to political mobilization for public housing as solution to the housing crises created by capitalism(2020), supported by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung.

On Saturday, February 1st, we will have an open session for all persons and groups in Iasi who have become involved or want to get involved in the right to housing movement: whether they want to monitor and limit the growth of rents that directly affect them, either they want to advocate for increasing the stock of public social housing to be allocated to all those who do not afford housing on the market; or maybe they are or they know people at risk of evacuation and want to limit this process, along with us.

We are waiting for you on Saturday, February 1st, between 5 pm and 7.30 pm, to discuss all these and talk about our shared or complementary experiences, to tell us what are the most serious aspects of the housing crisis in Iasi, therefore to start organizing together.

The Housing Block is a decentralized network of groups and associations fighting for the empowerment and political organization of communities, for housing justice. The block was created following the actions of the militant groups for the right to housing and the city: Social cases NOW! (Cluj), Common Front for the Right to Housing (Bucharest), E-Romnja (active in several cities), Right to the City (Timişoara), Cluj Renters' Association, RomaJust Association of Roma Jurists (active in several cities).
