Artists as agents of institutional exchange is the joint initiative of two institutions, one from Romania and one from Iceland, to create a collective platform with the purpose of better understanding and developing institutional mechanics with the help of artists.
The project has a number of joint activities adapted to the profile of the institutions involved: two peer to peer meetings and two artist residences. The simplicity of the proposed format is disrupted by a unique concept: a platform for video streaming (videostream.ro) provided to the two artists in residence as a production instrument. Past processes, hidden or private, archaeological practices or mere moments of video editing will be revealed to the contemporary online witness through a simple act of participation. The sessions will be available live on the tranzit. ro facebook page, on the website www.tranzit.org, on the website www.skaftfell.is or on the website dedicated to the project, videostream.ro starting with 10 October 2015.
The project "Artists as agents of institutional exchange" takes place as part of the programme "Promoting diversity in culture and art within the European cultural heritage", funded through a grant provided by Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Romanian Government.
