Arhigest is a design studio concerned with, among other areas of interest, the ecology of buildings and the built environment. They run pilot projects for experimental construction techniques, they invest in natural, passive / low-energy houses, mainly understood in terms of a healthy environment to live in, rather than energy efficiency in the economic sense.
The architect Mihai Silvestru will speak about the Arhigest experiment called ''The Rammed-Earth House'', built in 2015-2016 in the Woodsmen Land, Hunedoara County, starting from the ancient, traditional and almost lost technique of the rammed earth, which the team had to relearn before putting it into practice.
The presentation is part from the programme The Experimental Station for Research, developed by tranzit.ro/ București in 2018-2019.
