tranzit.ro/ Iasi hereby invites you to the screening of the video Crisis at the Baltic Sea / Criză la Marea Baltică, made by artists Silvia Amancei & Bogdan Armanu + Sana Ghobbeh, and to attend a presentation of how it was made, as well as of the recent activity of the artists Silvia Amancei and Bogdan Armanu.
„In 2015, the three artists met in Eckernförde, in Germany, where Sana, Silvia and Bogdan had been accepted for participation in an artist-in-residence programme run by Otte1, Kunstlerhaus. The artists quickly became friends and organised themselves in order to protect themselves against the cultural pressures of the Western/German culture.
As a result of this partisanship movement, the trio made a short video called ”Crisis at the Baltic Sea” (Criză la Marea Baltică).”

The artists Silvia Amancei and Bogdan Armanu (both born in 1991) form a couple, living and working in Iaşi, Romania. The two have graduated from the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design in Iasi and have been working together as an ”artist duo” since 2012.
In 2015 they were nominated for the ESSL Art Award (the national selection) and for the Chimera Art Award. The same year they were accepted by several artists' residence programmes, the most prominent being MQ21/ Museum Quartier AiR, a programme developed by tranzit and the ERSTE Foundation.
Sana Ghobbeh is an Iranian artist currently living in Tehran, Iran. Sana has a BSc in Architecture from the Art and Architecture Faculty, Azad Tehran University, Iran as well as an MA in visual arts from the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, Umeå, Sweden, institution in which she worked as a ”research assistant”.
Sana Ghobbeh has been accepted in various artist-in-residence programmes, of which the most representative is KulturKontact, Vienna, Austria, 2014, a programme run by the Austrian Ministry of Culture.
