Saturday, 23rd of July 2022, 5-8 p.m.

Discussion moderated by Adelina Luft, accompanied by dinner

The Experimental Station for Research on Art and Life, Silistea Snagovului

For documenta fifteen in Kassel, the Jatiwangi art Factory has developed the New Rural Agenda—a transnational summit among rural community networks. The summit was preceded by the New Rural School, a series of knowledge and narrative exchanges in the form of conferences, amateur radio talks, and the Bulletin Rural School. It emphasized diverse perspectives from below and peripheries, challenging uniform ideas of progress and sustainability.

It´s risky to let they see you alive and almost frangible*.

Saturday, May 14th, 2022
Cinema Elvire Popesco, Bucharest

between 5:30 - 5:40 pm.

Artists from all over lately find a place around nature, which they transform learning from nature, where they align themselves with other time-measuring instruments, they reorder the artistic concepts they work with, they relativize the distances to the city and open possibilities of collaboration with neighbours, with other artists, with non-human species.

Drained by a global pandemic and a nearby war, we will seek forces to synchronise for a few minutes, on the 14th of May, with several artistic spaces that are connected to nature. We will be able to see a short recorded transmission of a collective performance with feet on the ground, an affirmation of a type of inhabiting nature without colonising it, an invitation to rethink artistic work on more sustainable basis, an acceptance of the fragility of existence as a reason to plant life around us.

We gather here from time to time is one of the comments scribbled inside the container which constituted the material base of the project Tei Community Centre. Inaugurated in Autumn 2016 in the Circus Park in Bucharest, Tei Community Centre functioned until 2019 as a platform for meetings, work gatherings, civic organisation, educational workshops, public events and presentations, becoming a landmark on the park’s alleys. A partnership between the Civic Initiative Group Tei Lake and the architectural group studioBASAR, the project demonstrated the need for such spaces and infrastructures in different neighbourhoods. To gather signified practicing a collective voice and claiming one’s right to the city.
